Peonies are one of the most beloved flowers of the season — full, lush, and impossibly romantic. Our peony arrangements are designed to showcase their natural beauty, paired with complementary blooms like ranunculus, hydrangea, and garden roses to create something truly special.
Perfect for weddings, anniversaries, Mother's Day, or anyone who simply loves flowers. Peonies are seasonal, so availability varies — order early to get the freshest selection. We hand-deliver in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Order by 3 PM ET for same-day delivery in Manhattan on eligible arrangements.
Peony arrangements in NYC, made with the seasons
Few flowers give as generously as a peony. A tight, round bud loosens over a few days into layer upon layer of ruffled petals, until the bloom looks almost too full for its stem, and many varieties carry a soft, sweet scent. Warmth hurries a peony open and a cool room slows it down, so part of the gift is watching it unfold. Our peony care guide walks you through every stage.
Peonies keep a short season, and we'd rather be honest about it. They bloom naturally in late spring, and imported peonies extend the season, so our all-peony designs come and go with it. When peonies are out, any design that calls for them is made with other flowers that keep its colors, at equal or greater value. If peonies are the heart of your gift, call 212-289-1677 before you order and ask whether they're in this week.
Three designs here make room for peonies when the season allows. Pink Fury, made for celebrating, pairs rich pink hydrangeas and roses with hybrid lilies and orchid accents. Blue and Green is its calm opposite: hydrangea, peonies and seasonal flowers in cool blue and fresh green. Punch H, a bouquet named for a special friend of the shop, sets white roses and peonies among pink and blue Dutch hydrangea and feathery astilbe. The other three have no peonies but suit many of the same moments: Eliana, lush and romantic in pink and white, and Viridescence and Light Breeze, calm and fresh in white and green.
Every design is made fresh to order, by hand, at our shop on 96th Street and Madison Avenue, home to Jerome Florists since May 1929. Five days a week, fresh flowers come in from the United States, Holland, Italy and South America, and a stem that isn't at its peak gives way to one in matching colors, worth as much or more. Orchids, though, are never swapped. Lilies can always be left out of any design; just put "no lilies" in your cart's order note. With a pet at home, name the animal there too; we'll do our best to leave out any flower we know isn't good for it, or any other you'd rather skip.
Our own drivers deliver every day of the week: $15 within Manhattan, $25 for Brooklyn or Queens, with free pickup at 1379 Madison Avenue. Most of these designs can reach a Manhattan door the same day if your order is in by 3 PM; after 3, call 212-289-1677 and we'll check whether yours can still go. The card message is printed free on every order, and we'll handwrite it on request (a handwritten message longer than 150 characters is $15).
Questions we hear a lot
When are peonies in season?
Late spring is their natural moment, and imported peonies keep them coming for longer. What arrives changes from week to week, so the surest answer is a quick call to 212-289-1677.
Which designs on this page have peonies?
Pink Fury, Blue and Green and Punch H include peonies when they're in season. Eliana, Viridescence and Light Breeze have no peonies at all; they share this page because they suit many of the same gifts, whether or not peonies are in.
What if peonies aren't in when I order?
Then your design is made with other flowers that keep its colors, worth as much as the peonies or more. If it has to be peonies, call before you order and ask what came in this week.
How long do peonies last in a vase?
Usually five to eight days. Our peony care guide shows how to pace the buds, support their heavy heads and get the most from every day.
Can you leave out lilies, or flowers that aren't right for my pet?
Yes. No design ever has to include lilies, not even Pink Fury with its hybrid lilies: add "no lilies" to the cart's order note. For a pet, tell us which animal in that note; we'll do our best to skip any flower we know isn't good for it, or anything else you'd like left out. Our pet-safe flowers guide has more.
