The shop on the corner

A Carnegie Hill florist you can walk into

Our door is on the southeast corner of Madison and 96th. If you live around here, you've probably walked past it on the way somewhere else.

Next time, stop in, pick up an online order, or call ahead and have something made.

Ask for Peter or Constantine

Peter and Constantine Stamos keep the family shop going. Every arrangement is made by hand, by us, so tell us about the person before you tell us about the flowers. Does she like them loud or quiet? Does he kill every plant he owns?

That's the upside of a Carnegie Hill florist you can walk to: you can ask us in person. Giving flowers to someone nearby? Pick them up here and hand them over yourself. No buzzer, no lobby, and you see their face.

Custom work starts the same way, only earlier. The flower she carried at her wedding, or nothing yellow, ever: tell us before you come and we'll plan it. If your piece ends up on the site, we'll offer to name it after you. Floral bragging rights.

Around the corner

If you're headed to any of these, we're a short detour.

  • Museum MileCross Madison and keep going to Fifth; you're on it.
  • The Jewish MuseumFifth Avenue at 92nd, four blocks down, and the closest of the three museums here.
  • Cooper HewittFifth Avenue at 91st, one block past the Jewish Museum.
  • The GuggenheimFifth Avenue at 89th, seven blocks south.
  • Mount SinaiBetween Fifth and Madison near 100th, a few blocks north of us.

For the host

Invited to dinner down the block?

Golden Valentina sits low enough to talk over, so the host won't have to move it. Or bring an orchid plant; it will outlast the leftovers.

Before you walk over

Small things that make the visit quicker.

  • Museum first? Pick up on your way back instead of carrying a bouquet through the galleries.
  • Picking up an online order? Give us the name it's under.
  • Know where the flowers will go? A nightstand and a dining table need different sizes.
  • Walking it somewhere? A low arrangement travels better than a tall one.

Questions at the counter

Is 96th and Madison really in Carnegie Hill?
Yes, just. 96th Street is roughly where Carnegie Hill ends to the north, and we're on the south side of it.
What do you need to know for a custom piece?
Who it's for, what they like and what to leave out, then the date and whether you'll pick it up. A rough budget helps too. Call the shop or email jeromeflorists1@gmail.com.
Do you do flowers for dinner parties and events?
Yes, from one table down the block to a whole wedding. Our weddings and events page walks through how an inquiry works and what to have ready.
